PARKER — Owners of a rural Parker truss-manufacturing business on Monday still were trying to sort out the cost and the cause of a fire that destroyed their business just after midnight last Thursday. “We’re still trying to put a figure on what (the loss) is,” said Rod Clinton, who along with his wife, Pam Clinton, is co-owner of Parker Truss N Stuff. He added that the structure that housed the business was destroyed in the blaze. Clinton said insurance investigators were on the scene Monday, trying to determine the cause of the fire. So far, investigators have not identified a clear-cut cause of the blaze, he added. The Clintons, along with their families, started the business in 1996. The company makes wooden trusses for houses and buildings. Clinton said he hoped they will be able to rebuild, but much of that depends on the insurance company. “Depending on the weather, we could be back in production in 30 to 60 days,” he said. One of only a handful of businesses in the Parker community, Truss N Stuff employs five full-time workers to build and deliver trusses, and Pam Clinton oversees the day-to-day operations, Rod Clinton said. “This was totally unexpected,” he added. “After so many years, we had it down pat.” Now, he said, they will have to start over again.
